Baby Days...
Today I fed our 14-month old baby a bowl of cereal and a cup of soy milk (since she has a dairy allergy) for breakfast. What's so unusual about that? Well, I usually nurse her for her first meal of the day. A couple of days ago she threw her first bonafide "fit". She started tugging at my shirt (more like- she started trying to pull my shirt off) and screaming. I knew she wanted to nurse. I knew that if I didn't start getting serious about weaning, I was going to have a serious problem on my hands. But I don't want to wean her. It's not like I'm some LaLeche League radical! Really! My intention is not to be like THIS!! SO WHAT'S MY PROBLEM?? I think the real deal is that I'd just like for her to stay a 14 month old for about another year... Guess it's time to go sing another round of this.

Awwwww, my vote is to nurse her a bit longer. What's the harm? :) I often wish I still had a nurseling around. This will be the last time you nurse a baby, you know... (hee hee).

I hear ya! I wouldn't want to be nursing a three-year-old, but it is so hard to let it go. I think it's because it's admitting that they are growing up.

Maybe it's because with the last one, we're not only saying goodbye to nursing but also saying good-bye to having babies. Sorry, that probably doesn't help you. But on the up side, I've found that my friends with babies always let me snuggle their little ones for my baby fix. :)

LOL!!!! The three year old nursing photo was a bit alarming, but great for comedic affect :-)

I sooooooooooo relate to your plight. I, too, have a 15 month old that is not yet weaned. She, also, has started lifting my shirt as if it were as natural as opening the refrigerator door for a snack. My other two were 10 months and 7 months when they were weaned. I DON'T WANT HER TO GROW UP! WAAAAAAAAAAAA!!

Yeah, HJ, YOU first. :)

Oh, and btw everybody, you're not seeing things. I really did edit this post and change the baby's age from 15 to 14 months. Yes, I forgot how old my baby is... which is proof that I'm not fit to have another one anytime soon.

And about me first, It's really tempting....those little cheekers and smooches, cuddles and nursing..oh my!
