Friday Fun
Tonight, we went out to eat with our Sunday School class. We went to Bandanas Barbeque in PLACE and it was really a lot of fun-- not to mention good food. (Better than Wabash- but don't tell Jim.) We had a lot of good laughs, gave the waiter a run for his money and listened to Cole torture each husband into saying one nice thing about his wife. The coolest part was that after doing a quick mental inventory of our group of sixteen, I realized that over half of them were couples who were not in church four years ago. (Yes! We've been here nearly four years, though it seems in some ways as though the moving van was pulling into town just yesterday.) Some of them are new Believers and some are couples who had dropped out of church for a while but God has drawn them back. God seems to be doing a work of grace here in our church and it such a blessing to get to be in on it. I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace. So how many wives do the husbands in your church have?? I'll bet it's a popular church with the men of your community :-)

I had to laugh at the part about Spencer torturing the men into saying one nice thing about their wives. That's funny. But hey, shouldn't they be able to come up with ONE nice thing?

As far as half the people being part of your church that weren't a part such a short time ago, I think that is awesome. How exciting!

Alright anonymous, whoever you are... I tried editing my post so it wouldn't like we believe in multiple wives but now it looks like Spencer tortured each husband into saying something nice about ME and I'm just too tired to figure out how to reword this sentence. Oh well.

We have come a long way since you and Spencer came to our church. I can remember when we first came here we went to a Sunday School class with everyone at least 10-15 years older than us. They were in a different stage of life than us. Their children were much older than our one child at that time. It was a struggle for us. Now we have fellowship with couples are age. Our four children now have friends in church their own age. And we have a wonderful pastor's wife who is such an inspiration to me and my walk with the Lord. Thank you for coming to Gallatin and helping make a difference. It is exciting to see all these new faces. It is also exciting to think about what is in store for us.
