Late Latte'
Why were my kids and I sitting inside here at 8:30pm last night? Well, the answer is: someone called us at 7:15pm to say that a dear lady in our church was suffering from severe congestive heart failure and that she might pass on to glory at any minute. Since last night was going to be our first real night together after our long separation, we couldn’t bear to be parted for yet another evening, so we inhaled our red beans and rice and then we all piled in the van and headed to the hospital which is about an hour away. We promised the kids a sweet treat. Cool! Everyone’s up for an unexpected, late night trip to the hospital. An hour later, I dropped Cole off at the hospital and promised to be back in thirty minutes. He leaned over and in a deep, romantic voice said, “Don’t come back without a Carmel latte’” No problem. We’ll head to the nearest Starbucks, blow about 30 minutes and pick him up at the same spot where we left him. It was fun! The kids ordered double chocolate chip and I ordered the Carmel latte’s for dear husband and myself. We sat in there while all of the co-eds typed away on their wi-fi laptops and sang along with Barbara Streisand. Tru even brought in his laptop so that our family would seem hip too. I tried to look cool, but with five children under tow, no one was buying it. Sweet treats consumed, we headed back for the hospital. As I drive up to the hospital entrance, I can see that Spencer is already waiting for us. Wow, that was a quick visit! He gets back in the van only to tell me that Miss Helen is nowhere to be found in this hospital. We must have gotten bad information. I told him that some people will do anything to get a caramel latte’.

What a cute story. Carmel Latte...yumm! I had to laugh at him asking in his low romantic voice. I can just see him doing that! I'm glad he is back safe and sound and that you all are enjoying your reunion!! Have a wonderful day. (Today's my hubby's birthday!)

This is a great story! I especially love your ending that "some people will do anything to get a caramel latte". Laughing. I am one of "those people".
