The State of the Union
As per our family tradition, we all gathered around the television set last night to view President Bush's State of the Union Address. We really get into it. We stand, we clap, we even amen a little. "Why don't the Supreme Court justices stand?" Emma asked. "Because Lady Justice is blind!" It's a fun and educational time. It was a great speech and it was especially nice to see our new Supreme Court justice, Samuel Alito, donned in black robe, sitting somberly with the other judges. After the speech was given, I thought that sometimes it might be nice to reclarify our family's goals in the way of a speech. So... I know you've been dieing to hear... MICHELLE'S STATE OF THE UNION SPEECH (Everyone wildly applauds as I approach the rostrum.) Emma, Tru, Ty, Ava and Julianna: I am humbled by the privilege, and mindful of the history we have seen together. We have been through diapers, toddler years and now we stand on the brink of the adolescent years. It has been my honor to serve with you. In a system of two parties: us, the parents, and you, the kids, there will always be differences and debate. But remember, your parents always have your best and God’s glory in mind. There will continue to be great issues before us, and your dad and I will stay on our knees and do our part. Our Union is strong - and we pray that we will always remain a tight coalition. Never forget this: I am always right. In this decisive year, you and I will make choices that determine both the future and the character of our family. We will choose to act confidently as we pray that our enemy Satan will have no place in our home or in your hearts. We will not retreat from our duties in the hope of an easier life. In a complex and challenging time, the broad road that many of your peers are traveling may seem inviting - yet it ends in danger and decline. The only way to protect you... the only way to secure the peace ... is by God’s grace through the conduit of our leadership - so your parents will continue to humbly lead. And remember: I am always right. Like many parents before us, we will stay on our knees, beg for grace and mercy from God, our wonderful Father, and endeavor to finish well. We will continue to train you and coach you until you enter the wonderful land of parenthood yourself. And even then, we will always be your biggest ally. We love you. Thank you, God bless you, I am always right and may God bless The Sola family.

That's great, Michelle...Well...I am a totaly addict to watching the S.O.T.U.A....I really love the whole pomp and circumstance of it all....and I love the Bush's! ;) Then I had to stay up and watch the entire Democratic party response and the news reporters responses.....It interests me so much...I appreciated the speach and felt sympathy for George as he addressed such a haughty, arrogant, rude bunch of naysayers...I often feel that pressure as I teach 8th and 9th graders who have little to no respect for any authority of any kind. I felt the democrats were tacky, classless and downright rude. However, I guess I just took their response personally.
Hey Poppa! So neat to read your blogg and hear about you and Meme! :) Hey Heartsjoy....I'm going to have to set up a blogg too...I'm getting addicted to ya'lls!!!
