It's All In the Uniform
"Hey kids! I need you guys to help me clean up!" Just uttering that phrase around my house can cause 4 children to scatter faster than a bunch of Democrats at a NRA convention... Today I had the bright idea to try and make cleaning time a little more fun for Anna. I told her to go and get one of my aprons, a bandana and the feather duster because I needed her to tidy up the front room. She *totally* got into it. Donned in Happy Homemaker attire, Anna went to town on the front room. Not only did she tidy it up, she dusted all of the wooden pieces with furniture polish, vacummed under the couch cushions and floor and put all miscellaneous clutter away. Amazing how being dressed for the job makes one little 7 year old girl take on a new role with such vim and vigor. Now if I could just come up with a cool looking chef's uniform for one of my other children...
