He Is Risen!
I tried very hard to link you to my itunes collection so you could hear Keith sing this song for yourself. The lyrics alone just don't do it justice. I finally found a midi file on-line. Keith Green was a very instrumental part of my most spiritually influential years. (1986-1988) I love his zeal for the poor and the lost. Most of all, I love his passion for Jesus. Truth be known, I still drive around town belting out his songs and crying half the time I do it. Although Keith has been with Jesus since 1982, his influence continues today. If you've never listened to any of his music, I strongly encourage you to purchase one of his CDs and get to know him. His passion will rub off on you--I just know it.
He is risen! Hallelujah!

The Easter Song by Keith Green
Hear the bells ringing
They're singing that you can be born again
Hear the bells ringing
They're singing Christ is risen from the dead
The angel up on the tombstone
Said He has risen, just as He said
Quickly now, go tell his disciples
That Jesus Christ is no longer dead
Joy to the word, He has risen, hallelujah
He's risen, hallelujah
He's risen, hallelujah
Hear the bells ringing
They're singing that you can be healed right now
Hear the bells ringing, they're singing
Christ, He will reveal it now
The angels, they all surround us
And they are ministering Jesus' power
Quickly now, reach out and receive it
For this could be your glorious hour
Joy to the world, He has risen, hallelujah
He's risen, hallelujah
He's risen, hallelujah, hallelujah
The angel up on the tombstone
Said He has risen, just as He said
Quickly now, go tell his disciples
That Jesus Christ is no longer dead
Joy to the world, He has risen, hallelujah
He's risen, hallelujah
He's risen, hallelujah
Hallelujah

Okay, can I just say that when I saw your subject heading and then saw your picture...
It totally sounded like you were saying Keith Green is risen.
:)
He (Jesus) is risen, indeed!

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
L, that was funny. I do love that song and do like Keith Green as well! Thanks for sharing the thoughts and song with us!!
I love Keith Green too! One of my favorite songs is "So you wanna go back to Egypt?" I'm not sure if that's the title or not but it's a really creative song.
Keith Green has a great influence in my household - you already know this, Michelle! I love it that Phillip works for hours on the piano music for KG songs, especially the "get up and go" ones that he plays all over the keyboard - "Dear John Letter," "Because of You," "You Put this Love in my Heart"....then Jonathan plays the ballads: "There is a Redeemer", that one you sang in church when he played for you that I can't remember the name of, and the "Prodigal Son Suite." I totally agree with you, Michelle - Keith's passion for Jesus and his way of expressing it both lyrically and musically - it does rub off! In fact, I think our church better learn one of his songs - right away! I'll get to work on that....
Thanks for KG stuff,
KG's music has influenced me more than anything else on the planet almost. I have listened to him for so long. He has also influenced me as a musician, to be very honest and real in my lyrics. I'd be honored if you would check out my music on my site. Its very "Keithish."
Thanks for posting,
-Sean
