And God Be With You, My Friend
My husband and my oldest son have a daily, morning tradition. Each morning as Tru gets out of the van to head into the elementary school, he turns to his father and says in his best Luke Skywalker voice, "God be with you." Cole replies in his best Obi Wan Kenobi voice, "And God be with YOU my friend."
I love that little tradtion. It's silly and fun and it also reminds me of the importance of blessing others and of being blessed.
This morning as I was reading in Deuteronomy, I came across this passage:
Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the LORD your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the LORD your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the LORD your God...As I read those verses, I immediately pictured a football player being tackled by another player. You know-- overwhelmed-- the feeling that you can't get away from something because it's chasing you hard. Here's praying that you get overtaken, tackled and overwhelmed by God's blessings today.

What a cool outlook on that scripture. All I have to say is, Pray on Sista!
I don't think often enough about being overtaken by God's blessings! Thanks for sharing that.
