Teen-Agers
I often talk about the joys of having a baby in the house-- but have I mentioned what a joy it is to have a spiritually maturing young adult in the house? Our two oldest children are 14 and 12 respectively and are just getting to be a lot of fun. (Most of the time.) ;) Miniature adults really.
Today as I was putting laundry away in Emma's room, I saw that she had created a little poster with a blue sharpie marker and orange flourescent poster board. It read: "If we discover a desire within us that nothing in this world can satisfy, we should begin to wonder if perhaps we were created for another world."- CS Lewis
Raising kids is hard work. But once in a while God sends a breeze of fresh air your way and you just kick back and say "Thank-you Lord." Thank-you Lord, that my kids are starting to "get it." And please don't let me get in the way. Just don't let me screw it up.

My kids are younger, but I definitely pray that prayer, "Lord, claim them, make them Yours -- and keep me out of your way!!"
And -- WHOA! on the C.S. Lewis quote. That is deep thinking for a "young adult". Okay, it's deep thinking for me -- an old adult!
Man, that is a breeze of fresh air!
How precious! That is a treasure indeed.
that is an incredible quote and i absolutely LOVE teenagers. They are awesome mini-adults! :-)
WoW! I had no idea that so many adults really thought that about us teens... Love the quote--You don't find very many quotes these days that really mean anything, so that one by Clive Staples Lewis is really amazing and refreshing. Thanks for that Michelle!
