All Dressed Up . . . (Lots of party pictures posted)
so many places to go! :) Check out MICHELLE'S OVERCROWDED TO-DO LIST: 1. Organize band concert dessert bar. Check. 2. Travel to Branson with the band as a chaperone one week later. Check. 3. One week after that, organize music awards banquet. Check. 4. Two weeks later, organize and throw a 40th wedding anniversary party for my parents with my sister. Check. The anniversary party was a smashing success. It was everything I wanted it to be and more! My parents were totally thrilled with the evening . . . I saw friends and family members I hadn’t seen in years . . . the decorations came together beautifully . . . the food was great (and we had more than enough, thanks to many of my friends!) Megan and I have decided that if we lived close to each other we could start our own party planning business. She is great with all of the behind of the scenes stuff and I'm great at bossing her around. ;) Seriously, we did seem to work pretty well as a team. And it was a lot of fun! A few pictures . . . Me and my sister with our parents. I wish Megan's eyes weren't closed in this picture. There was another picture of this same pose, but her eyes were closed in that one as well--and my dad's were too! (What is it with those two???) Me-- pinning on my dad's boutonniere. The vow renewal. The AWESOME cake. I just loved this cake! The centerpieces. (Notice that the cakeplates are sitting on green paper with black polka dots that match the AWESOME cake perfectly!!) Megan has a little home business and she made all of the candles as take-home souvenirs for all of our guests. If you ever need Christmas presents for all of your kid's school teachers or a big event-- go, no RUN, over to her candle site and order some. Her prices more than reasonable and they all smell heavenly!! The banner that hung behind the cake table. (I can’t believe we didn’t get a photo of the entire cake/food table. I’m sure my mom got one though. . . Didn't get a picture of the guest book table either. Rats! I wanted you to see the geraniums planted in coke glasses!! My parent's--posing by the poster we had made of an old photograph. My gang. I won't point out the fact that Titus has on TWO DIFFERENT SHOES! (Not sure how we did that...) I don't think anyone noticed though. At least they were both brown. Megan's gang. A good time was had by all! Now, back to my list: 5. Pack and travel to Annapolis for my brother-in-law’s graduation from the Naval Academy THIS COMING WEEKEND. 6. Pack and travel to Arkansas for that same brother-in-law’s wedding-- THE WEEKEND AFTER THAT! 7. Leave directly from wedding, crash in Branson, and try to recover from the past two months! 8. Come home from Branson just in time for the rehearsal dinner for a wedding of a very sweet, young couple in our church. I’m getting to sing a duet with our local school's music teacher--The Prayer and I'm getting to sing Charlotte Church's part! I’m sooooo perked!!! 9. Put up the pool for the kids, kick back, and try enjoy the summer!!!!!

Whoa, I'm exhausted just READING your list. Where do you get all your energy??

So happy to hear that your parents' anniversary celebration went so well ... just wondering why you didn't mention all the details of the stomach virus your sister told us about on HER blog?? :-)

Hope you have a restful week before the next big event!

Hey Sheryl-

I thought about mentioning all of that-- but ran out of time to lengthen the post. For all of the wondering VOMITICIOUS DETAILS-- see Megan's blog. :)

Seriously-- the good news is that no one was throwing up on the day of the party! Just the day before and the day after. God was gracious.

Holy cow, girl! I've heard it's better to be busy than bored, but you are taking it to a whole new level!

The party looks like it was amazing! All the decorations are to die for, especially the cake! mmmmmm. cake.

Thanks for the pix. I can't believe how much you and Megan look like your mom!

So are you going to be in Branson around June 8-11? We'll be there for a family vacation.

You probably don't know me, but I found your blog through Megan's. Megan and I were high school buddies ... now I live in the Nashville area with my hubbie and two children.

Wow! Michelle...that party was such a sweet and beautiful tribute to your parents. Everything looked so neat and meaningful. I bet it meant the world to your parents that ya'll did that for them! Way to go! I'll miss seeing you and Spencer at Annapolis...I'll look forward to seeing you at the wedding...
Ruth :)
P.S. Girl...you look gorgeous with that new do!!! I'm serious..you look so elegant with your haircut. I've grown my hair out long for the wedding, but look forward to cutting short very soon after! :)I'd like to cut it before...but my man was like..at least wait until the wedding since that's why you originally grew it out..he did have a point there... Funny how he's usually right...

I know Jules-- and this is so unlike me. See "Doing It All" under favorite posts...

But somehow the Lord has blessed and given my the strength to do all of this. Special season, I guess.
